20++ Ladock WI members had a wonderful time at the Cornish Lavender Farm. Tina, owner of Cornish Lavender Farm gave a talk, followed by a delicious tea and cakes, and a walk on the Lavender field.
We are really embracing every opportunity for a celebration at the moment. During our May meeting we held a party to mark the King’s Coronation whilst also making plans for our contribution to the Ladock Community Hall Anniversary Celebration.
During the formal part of the meeting, we discussed the resolution which a representative will vote for at the WI Annual Meeting. The resolution this year is ‘Clean rivers for people and wildlife’. Our president Sandra Buck told us that Water quality in our rivers is shameful. Legally, designated bathing waters must be regularly monitored for pollution. The resolution supports the provision of official designated bathing sites on appropriate stretches of rivers in their area. This will be as instrumental to the clean-up of rivers as it has been for water quality improvement at coastal beaches. Ladock WI members voted unanimously to put forward our vote for this resolution at the Annual Meeting. We then moved on to our fun part of the evening. Everyone came dressed in Red, White and Blue, and took part in a Coronation quiz which was won by Judith Williams who demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the subject. We played ‘Put the diamond on Charles’s crown’, which was won by Chris Spinney, before we all ate copious amounts of food. Ladock WI celebrated the King's Coronation at their May meeting. Each member have brought some food and drinks to share. They had Royal Quiz and Pin the Diamond on the Crown Game which was enjoyed by everyone. Delicious food and cakes! Meeting just ended! It's time to party! Royal Quiz Game - Pin The Diamond On The Crown
